But what is Geometry? Flat shapes like circle, square, rectangle, triangle, simple lines, curvy lines, etc. are all part of 2D geometry. We have all learned about this in our mathematics classes in schools. Geometric patterns are one of the most interesting yet simple patterns which can be incorporated in any design/ style. It can be used with almost anything in life-like drawings, organizations, buildings, interiors, prints, you name it.

We are personally fans of geometric designs and we are here with beautiful geometric design inspirations for your walls. You can have them anywhere, it can be used in office design, studio design, your shop design, anywhere you wish to and they will add just the right amount of texture to your walls.

These are a few different styles of Geometric Designs you can choose from:

1.Adding little ups and downs (Zig- Zag patterns)

The zig-zag pattern is one of the playful patterns. These have parallel lines going up and down in a regular pattern. It can be classified in symmetrical patterns as the zig-zag lines tend to be the same even if they are mirrored.

2. Patterns within patterns

You can choose to have simple patterns or if you wish to slightly experiment you can have patterns within patterns. One such example is the one in this photo, where we have V-shaped parallel lines, radiating lines from one corner and square with squares- all in a big square-shaped geometric pattern. You can have whichever patterns you like inside any other geometric shape.

3. 3D Geometric patterns

It’s wonderful how simple lines can give you the illusion of 3D. These simple line intersections, play tricks on your mind to think that they are 3D objects on your wall. Play around with these, there are many many options to this style as well.

4. Simple parallel lines (Horizontal or Vertical)

If you don’t wish to fuzz over deciding which pattern to choose, you can opt for simple parallel lines. You can choose to change the thickness of each or some lines as per your design and just keep them simply straight. The specialty of this pattern is that it can create an illusion of taller (for vertical lines) or wider (for horizontal lines) space. The room tends to look bigger than it is. And the best part is its simplicity to blend in with any style of decor in your room.

5. Repetitive geometric flower pattern

As basic as it sounds this pattern is made by repetitive geometric flower patterns. This can be as big or as small as you like. The bigger patterns create space and as the pattern gets smaller it creates dense and strong spaces. You can choose what style of flower pattern you like and repeat them to create your design.

6. Random triangle pattern

This pattern consists of starts like the style. Many dots joint together by lines. It can be random but of the same size to keep it consistent. Our suggestion for this pattern is, don’t go for too dense patterns as it will eliminate the whole purpose of this “simple not-so-risky” patterns we are talking about.

7. What’s your zodiac

One very interesting way to play with lines and dots is by arranging them in the formation of zodiac constellations. You can either choose your zodiac or have all of them. Completely your choice. You can either cover your whole wall or just a part of it.

8. Checks

The checkered pattern is back in style and we decided to include them in this blog as well. You must have seen how checks add style in forms of cushion covers, comforter covers, curtains, etc. but the good news is you can use them as wallpapers also. They are simple yet classy. We can’t get over how beautiful this one in the photo looks.

9. Tribal geometric patterns

Patterns have evolved through ages. One such type is the Tribal print. These are hand draws patterns in various shapes and sizes. Although we have seen these patterns in booming in the fashion industry, they make great wallpaper style too. These patterns are known to be bold and filled with attitude but you can have them as subtle as you like. There are many styles of tribal patterns like Ikat, African, Ganado, etc. Ikat can be a good style to use as wallpaper as this is more of a repetitive style with more ups and downs and goes well on a neutral base. The image shows an example of Ikat Prints.

10. Leaf patterns

These are similar to the flower pattern mentioned above, the only difference being the shape of the pattern- leaf. Leaves are a part of nature, this type of wallpaper falls in biophilic design style. Connecting you to nature through shapes.

Tip: You can skip the normal single wall wallpaper style and choose to continue it to the adjacent wall as well. It keeps the continuity of the space intact. Here is an example for you.
